Unit7 Would you mind turning down the music? Period 2
Background information:
School:西师附中 Junior Section : Teacher :李洁玉 Class 1, Grade 2 Size :54 Time duration :40 minutes Date :May 10 Material :Go for it Type of lesson : Reading & Speaking Aids :PPT、blackboard Contents: 1. Phrases : leave a note at a meeting=have a meeting 2.Grammar Focus: ① Would/Could you please (not) do sth. ② sb. have to to sth.

Teaching objectives:
1. Instructional objectives: At the end of the class, Ss will be able to ① master the ways of how to make requests politely and the basic ways of answering requests. ② tell the differences between "would you", "could you" and "have to" and learn how to use the different sentences to make interviews or conversations. 2. Educational objectives At the end of the class, Ss will be able to ① know how to make requests and apology politely in real conversations and interviews. develope the habit of taking down notes when other students are making reports. 3. Personal objectives: At the end of the class, I should learn how to be a good instructor, leader and controller, as well as friends while my students are doing tasks.

Focal points:
1. Review the grammar points we’ve learnt yesterday and let ss master the different use of “mind”; 2. Ss can tell the difference between would you, have to, could you and they can use them in oral practicing and also writing.

Difficult points:
T how to consolidate the grammar points for the ss in a clear and easy way and

also ss can do the tasks by using sentence structuers which they have learnt during the two classes.

Ss: …… T: Yes, we have learnt “Would tou mind doing sth. or not doing sth.”Then, can you think of other ways also to make requests politely? Ss: …… T: All right, we can also say could you please……But can you find the difference between them? Ss: …… T: Good, after mind we plus doing while after could you we plus do. All in all, doday’s lesson is successful. But there are two aspects I need to work on to improve. 1, The speed and pattern of the dictation are not very propriate, which should have been more steady and clearer. 2. When letting ss do tasks, I should have made the instruction clearer and more brief, and made an example with the ss as well.
